Worship and Remembrance - The Lord's Supper
Our most important function is to meet weekly for worship of our Holy God and to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His Son. As led by the Holy Spirit, men may share a relevant portion of scripture, offer prayer or suggest a hymn of praise. The service culminates in communion of bread that symbolizes His suffering in His human body, and wine that speaks of His blood shed for our sins on the Cross of Calvary. This service has an anticipatory nature in that we follow His command to "Do ye this until I come".
"And He took bread. gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying:
'this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.'"
Luke 22:19
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship,
and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."
Acts 2:42
